Olympic Games
Since August of 2004 the Scottish Home residents have been competing in their own summer and winter Olympic Games. The opening ceremony for this year's 2010 winter games was held on Monday, February 15, followed by the first of nine events scheduled during the two week period. Residents competed in Bean Bag Olympic Ring Toss, Ice Cube Relay, Wheelchair Hockey, and Tea Kettle Curling just to name a few. Bronze, silver and gold medals were awarded to the winners after each event. The Food Service department also prepared some favorite Canadian dishes to be enjoyed at mealtime. Bravo to the staff of the Life Enrichment department who organized this great event and decorated the Home in the Olympic spirit.
Christmas Party
Every year the Scottish Home celebrates Christmas with a holiday party
for residents and their families in Heritage Hall. This long-running
tradition was the highlight of the holiday season. Residents were
treated to a variety of delicious sweets while listening to Christmas
carols and visiting with their families.
